This announcement came following discussions between Consul General Elmer G. Cato and Eric Ching-chung Hsueh, the General Manager of EVA Air's Italian branch.

General Manager Hsueh expressed his commitment to introducing the beauty and culture of the Philippines to the Italian market, with Consul General Cato reciprocating the enthusiasm for this partnership.

Under the banner of "Amare Le Filippine" (Love the Philippines), the Philippine Consulate General in Milan has launched a tourism promotion campaign to attract more Italian visitors to the archipelago. This initiative aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s vision of Bagong Pilipinas, positioning the Philippines as a global tourist hotspot.

Highlighting the significant Filipino community in Italy, both parties aim to not only facilitate the return of Filipinos to their homeland but also to showcase the Philippines' allure to Italian passengers. Last year, Italy ranked 25th among foreign tourists visiting the Philippines, with efforts underway to bolster these numbers through targeted promotional activities.

EVA Air, renowned as a five-star airline by Skytrax, currently operates multiple flights to key destinations in the Philippines, including Manila, Clark, and Cebu. The airline's Italian branch has a longstanding presence in Italy, serving Taiwanese expatriates and students while actively seeking to expand its Filipino customer base.
